Year 2007

Hey!

Year is turning, and I'm still waiting for some sign what should I do with this Journal. I really don't have time to do anything new here, but I really don't wanna delete this either. I've spent so much time here and done lots of work to get this Journal up and standing, so it feels like I'd kill my own baby if I just get rid of it.

Please, give me some comments if you like me to keep this up and running.

Lately I've spent a lot of time in MySpace (I'm sooooo addicted to it), so if you have MySpace account too you can add me to your friends and give some comments there if you like. I'm updating my MySpace & Blog almost daily, so you can find me there quite easily. My blog on MySpace doesn't have anything to do Buffy or even fanfiction, mostly my real life, but if you wanna get contact with me, come there. I'm always ready to meet some new people, so don't hesitate to visit my profile page.

Here is my MySpace link:

See ya! And happy new year 2007!

SAD BUT TRUE...

And the time has come to end one era...

I've been really busy lately with my real life. I've moved and I don't have so much Internet time I used to have. And I gotta admit that I have done other things than thinking of this Journal or my Bookshelf.

So, this message is to all my little friends - and strangers.

I've considered that I should just simply put this whole Journal down, and also my Bookshelf too. But I'm still thinking about options, and I hate to do anything to my Bookshelf because there are lots of good plot bunny stuff and everything else I don't wanna lose. Letting other people update my Bookshelf is one option that I really need to think about.

If there are people who would like to have rights to do some admin stuff with my Bookshelf, just contact me and I'll consider it.

Just a warning - I don't wanna any f**king maniacs contact me and whine about letting them do the admin duty, I wanna see people who really care about the cause and have great ideas what to put there. You gotta remember that I'm gonna still be the head poobah there, just really silent one - for time being, I think... I don't know, maybe I'll get my spark back and do a lot of plotbunnies again... We'll see.

Contact me.

Love, CC

IMPORTANT!!!

Even if my Journal is still on hiatus at the moment, I still check all the comments and messages I've got and I'll get from all of you.

Past couple of days have been quite frustfrating and extremely annoying 'cause my Journal has got LOTS of spam comments. I get comment notifications everytime someone post a comment and in the past I have let everyone post comments without first accepting them, but now I have to change that because of those spammers. You'd propably do the same if got over hundred web journal comment notifications within few days - and all of them were spam comments. Frankly, it really started to piss me off.

I banned some IPs but I don't think it'll help much. There was so many IPs that was used to spam my Journal, so I had to ban out few larger groups of IPS. If someone has problems to enter the site, it could be because of this IP banning. I'm really sorry if someone won't get in here because of that. Send me mail if you're banned out without of reason.

WHAT'S GOING ON?

THIS SITE IS ON HIATUS!

REASONS BEHIND THIS DECISION:

  • I haven't had any new ideas or inspiration lately, so I thought I should hold this site on hiatus for some time. At the moment I don't know how long this decision lasts - a week, a month, forever?

  • I have also some Real Life issues like we all have time to time. At the moment I have some other projects going on, so I'm trying to do them first, and then I possibly decide how I'm gonna proceed with this Journal.

  • What about Phoenix Child?: I'm still gonna update the PC site  whenever I got any new chapters for the 'sequel' stories. At the moment Gylzgurl seems to be the only one who updates her story.Ooops! I just remembered that I haven't informed you about WhiteWolf's decision to NOT continue his PC sequel. I actually gave this info bit to my Yahoo group members already weeks ago, and it seems I have totally forgot to tell you about it. Sorry!

  • What about the Bookshelf?: Well, the Bookshelf is almost like my own baby, so I gotta feed it time to time.   It's been really hard to make new Inspirational Challenges and McPlotBunnies lately, so my Bookshelf has been very quiet for few weeks now. But, I'm gonna update whenever I got new ideas. And I'll also visit there daily, so I check all the comments and posts, and give some comments back.

  • I'm also still doing some beta work and helping some people with their writings - don't worry guys, I still have time for you!

SO, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT'S BEEN REALLY PLEASURE TO DO THIS SITE AND GET NEW IDEAS FROM YOU. YOUR FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WELCOMED.

I HOPE YOU WILL VISIT MY JOURNAL TIME TO TIME, AND CHECK IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY CHANGES.

TA TA - FOR NOW!

SOMETHING ABOUT MY BOOKSHELF...

Just thought you should know, if you haven't checked my Bookshelf lately, that I have created another section for my Inspirational Challenges. These new type of Inspies aren't crossovers with movies, TV or books, in these Inspies Buffy meets Hollywood, Celebrities and some well known people.

This new section is called Strawberry Martinis & Absolut Passions. And what's the funny thing, all these Inspirational Challenge pics have names after drinks. No, I'm not advertising or advicing you for drinking, I just stumbled across some funny named drinks and got this crazy idea.

I have already posted the very first Strawberry Martini (hmmm... or was it Absolut Passion?). The number UNO is named as Crazy Monkey, and Buffy meets Jim Carrey. Go check the Inspi to my Bookshelf.

And about my Bookshelf in generally. Yeah, I promised you that I'd try to keep my Journal and Bookshelf away from each other, but I just had to say this: There has been many hilarious / exciting / interesting / crazy / mind-blowing conversations between me, Aly and Goddessa. We have been throwing some ideas about my Inspies and Bunnies, and I have enjoyed my time with their crazy comments  but I think we need now some new, fresh ideas from other people too. So go there give some comments and ideas. And if you know some people who need some inspiration for their own fics, tell them about my Inspirational Challenges and McPlotBunnies, maybe they will find something they like.

MY BUNNY HAS BEEN TAKEN!

Oooh, and now you're thinking about... What?

Seriously, I'm meaning one of my McPlotBunnies. Aly has written a fic based on my Bunny #7 - Helping the Helpless. Her story is 'Follow the Stars'. It's a BTVS/Stargate SG-1  crossover.

Aly has already finished the first part of the story (15 chapters), and this part is based on the Stargate movie. She is already working with the sequel for this story.

I really liked the story, so you should go to check it too. The addy is this: http://www.five-by-five.us/words/follow/

~ ~ ~

I have added lists of all the Bunnies and Inspies that has been taken. You can find those lists from my Bookshelf. At the moment there is only one taken Bunny, but I'll update those lists everytime when someone takes one of my crazy creations.

MY HUMBLE PLEA...

There have been some questions about my Inspies and Bunnies, and where you could read the fics that are based on these challenges. Well, here is the answer: I'm gonna add a list of the taken Inspies and Bunnies to my Bookshelf. That list should give you some idea which challenges has been taken and by whom.

There still aren’t many challenges/bunnies taken – at least I don’t know about them. I know Aly is working some fics, and hopefully we can read something from her soon.

So, what’s this humble plea I’m making? Well, my lovely visitors: If someone has taken some of these challenges/bunnies, please send me info about your fic and the link where the story is, and I’ll add the link to my list.

NEED SOME HELP WITH SUPERHEROES, SUPERHUMANS, WITCHES, VAMPIRES...

I need some assistant with a list of superheroes, superhumans, witches, werewolves etc.

And now you're asking what the heck I'm doing with the list, right? Well, I did few McPlotBunnies / Inspirational Challenges, and it's kinda good to know at least something about superheroes if you did those challenges. And when I started to think about that superhero-list, I figured out that it would be really useful to list other types of humans too.

So, I'd be really grateful if someone could help me with this problem. I know the basic superheroes (like Spiderman, Superman etc.) and other character types, but I need some info about rare ones.

You could also suggest what kind of sections my list should include.

I think Aly is also thinking about this same thing, but it's good if I could get suggestions from many people. So, put your brains working my little probbie, and I'll hopefully get a list that has a lot of information we can use in many occasions.

So, here are some sections I have already thought, send me more section suggestions etc.

·       Superheroes: Spiderman, Daredevil, Superman, Catwoman...

·       Superhumans (genetically enchanced / empowered): Transgenics - Max, Alec, Zack...

·       Witches: Charmed Ones...

·       Werewolves:

·       Vampires: Blade...

·       Government Agents: Mulder, Scully...

·       Cops:

·       Aliens:

What else?

And I'd be really, REALLY happy if you gave me some kind of info about the powers the superheroes have.

HOW IMPORTANT IS AN INTERESTING STORY TITLE AND A GOOD SUMMARY?

Why did I bring this subject up? Well, the reason is that I hate bad summaries. Okay, okay, I suck with summaries myself too, but I really hate summaries that don't give me anything. If you read a summary which won't give you any hints about the story, which won't 'sell' the story to you, will you read the story? Some may, I probably won't...

Summaries are the way to advertise your stories. They have to be short, but still interesting piece of works that blow your mind.

What do you think when you read a good summary? This could be one thought: 'Oh wow! This story must be good!' Summaries are the first things you see / read when you'll find a new story that you haven't read yet. You read the summary, and then you will decide if you want to read the whole story or not.

If you don't write good summaries, maybe you should let someone else read the story before publishing and let him/her write a summary that sells the story better.

I know some people that really don't understand the meaning of the summary. 'Why should I write some stupid summary? You read the whole f**king story, not some short piece of s**t.' That actually came from mouth of some guy I know when he wrote a story for school.

Do you really wanna read a story if the author has that kind of 'So What?' attitude? Do you give a s**t if the author won't either?

I'm not trying to push anyone to write better summaries or something like that. The main focus should be the story itself, but the summary is the reason we read those stories. If the summary isn't interesting, most of us probably just ignore them.

This has happened many times to me. I have read many bad summaries and just skipped the stories, and later someone has send fic searches on discussion groups asking some stories. And I have thought: 'Ooh, that sounds interesting. Why haven't I read that before?' And when someone sends back the answer for the search, I check the story. And then I get my own answer: 'Hmmm... I think I've read the summary before, haven't read the story though...' This happened to YOU?

You should also give some interesting titles for the stories. I admit again that I suck with story titles too. Titles are the other way to advertise your story. If you have too traditional / conventional / boring / ordinary / common etc. title, and if there are also many stories with the same title, can you remember the story later? Or you may remember the story, but not the author or the place you read it for the first place.

If you'll give a very exceptional / interesting / unconventional / exciting etc. title, it is much more easier to find it from the Net if you don't remember the story location or whose story it was.

Do you have any ideas about this subject?
